Dr. Juan-Nicolás Peña-Sánchez is an Associate Professor at the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology of the University of Saskatchewan. He is a physician from Colombia with a European Master of Public Health and a Ph.D. from the University of Saskatchewan. His collaborative and interdisciplinary research program aims to study innovative healthcare approaches that address the needs of populations and overcome the challenges of healthcare systems. He has been co-leading the IBD among Indigenous Peoples Research Team since 2018. This team has been building meaningful and bidirectional relationships with Indigenous community members and achieving outstanding research outcomes.
