Dr. Theal is the lead physician for Connect Care, a province-wide clinical information system in Alberta used by over 130,000 staff across more than 750 healthcare facilities. He also practices Gastroenterology at the University of Alberta, where he is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine. As a recognized expert in improving patient and provider outcomes using clinical information systems, Dr. Theal has engaged with clinicians, administrators and policy makers in 12 different countries and has served as an advisor to over 200 hospitals nationally and internationally. He holds certification in Safety, Quality, Informatics and Leadership from Harvard University.
