Dr. Kenneth Ernest-Suarez is an Assistant Professor at the University of Alberta and a gastroenterologist specializing in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). He completed his medical training at the University of Costa Rica, followed by a two-year IBD fellowship at the University of Calgary completing advanced traning in Intestinal Ultrasound (IUS). Joining the University of Alberta in 2026 as co-Director of the IUS Program, he focuses on implementing IUS for non-invasive disease monitoring and clinical trials. He serves on the Education Committee of the International Bowel Ultrasound (IBUS) Group.
